The Top 5 RTS Community Halloween Costumes

As the sun hides away, the darkness comes out to play. Nasty things and scary things come to chase you away. It?s the eve of Halloween and the night of zombies, vampires and ghosts. But have you noticed, over time, the night of Halloween has become the night of ?dress up?? ?We put together some of the best costumes from around the fanbase of our favorite games. ?Read on for the best of the best from around the community contests.

This year I?ve browsed social media, applauded what I?ve found and picked out some of my favourite RTS Gaming outfits. In addition I noticed that the gaming world has a knack with pumpkins (obviously using micro with a carving knife) and so I have shared some of the best pumpkins I?ve seen. I also noticed a rather distinct lack of costumes this year. Maybe due to the weather or maybe because the community has been feeling depressed recently. Either way some of the special fans and community ignored all that and came through with some inspiring work.

With all things halloween when you grow up you can?t quite justify spending hours dressing up as a baneling, zergling or whatnot. So what are kids for?

1) Boystimesthree Baneling Boy!

Boystimesthree?joined reddit for the sole purpose of sharing her proud and impressive work. Her 7 year old son announced he wanted to be a ?Baneling for halloween?. A Baneling, an explosive, blobby green killer bug in the game Starcraft 2. In an impressive mad dash she swotted up on the Baneling as her Husband had introduced Starcraft 2 to their son and the costume was set. His little brother went dressed as a crocodile and of course was complemented by many but his mood was improved with how much a response the internet gave his outfit.

So at my number 1:

2) Sehkmett the Zergling

Sehkmett?from reddit, known for her adventerous and off the beaten track artwork, such as ?sexy mutalisk angels? designed a Zergling outfit for herself. A zergling in the workspace, and my number 2.

Who?d of thought a Zergling could do productive work?

3) Jelly Bean the Zergling

If you don?t have children you can always rely on mans best friend.?Lyz Brickley?fan of all things cosplay, games and dogs designed a cute doggy zergling complete with creep! Lyz, well known for her fantastic Mylune cosplay posted her little zerg on facebook.

So for my number 3, I present you a Zergling.

4) Vrieevriee as Captain Teemo?

I entered the surprisingly sparse League of Legends Halloween realm and choose everyones love/hate relationship champion. Vrieevriee dressed himself up as Teemo and was then later spotted out clubbing!

5) Lill as Lina?

Finally entering the realm of photoshop, models and proffesional artwork I present you DotA 2?s Lina photographed by Victoria?and modelled by Lill. You can find more DotA 2 cosplay at Victoria?s gallery including Queen of Pain and Crystal Maiden.

Moving from the sparse realm of halloween outfits to where micro meets pumpkin I?ve listed a crazy quick bullet point list of the top 5 pumpkins.

Top 3 Pumpkins:?

As I explored the internet checking out the incredibly taleneted gaming fans I had to lift my jaw from the ground multiple times. I recall the last time I ventured near a pumpkin It ended in seeds all over the floor, seeds in my hair and the pumpkin face that looked like a giant fist hole. I'm not a taleneted gamer when it comes to arts and crafts.

However... pumpkin's can be one of the most impressive pieces of art I know.

Reddit user?lhamstreet?shared some of the best talent I've seen with a carving of League of Legends Ahri!?

2) LuLu by r2tran's gf.

Hot on the heels of taltented artist ihamstreet is r2tran's gf who carved LuLu.

3) nachdenkilch - Starcraft 2 Zealot

And finally to celebrate Starcraft 2 and found on reddit once again is starcraft 2 community fan nachdenklich?who posted in the spirit of the community and shared his talented skills, oddly (s)he received a bit of hate but share you appreciation of user nachdenkilch and the pumpkins.

Finally, I can leave what I love about the gaming community. We are a creative, productive and imaginative bunch. With videos, to songs, to carvings and costumes. Gaming at halloween is always an event and even the developers agree with give away prizes, bundles, game modes and in game graphics changing. Gaming does Halloween right.
