Make a Nearly Invisible Cable Catcher Out of Rubber Tubing [DIY]

While binder clips work pretty fantastically as cable catchers, this method gives you a bit more versatility, and isn't quite so big and bulky. All you need is a bit of rubber tubing, some scissors, and a small nail to attach it to your desk.
