Job Summary:

The Director of Government Affairs primary focus will be to develop and maintain relationships with influential members of the European Union government and key strategic European countries in order to further and protect the interest of Hospira. This position will be responsible for lobbying and educating key members of these governments on the behalf of Hospira.

Requirements:

The EMEA?Director of Government Affairs will develop and maintain relationships with influential members of the European Union government and key strategic European countries to further and protect the interest of Hospira. The?EMEA?Director of Government Affairs,?will be responsible for lobbying and educating key members of these governments on the behalf of Hospira. This position will be responsible for informing senior management of the development and potential impact of policies, legislation and planning and execution of actions to protect and advance Hospira?s business interests relative to legislation and policies.

Key Areas of Focus:

? Manage government affairs programs, budgets and outside agencies.
? Expand existing and establish new key government relationships at the EU level and local country level. (for example; UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy)
? Support and grow presence and participation in trade associations and coalitions.
? Support and engage Hospira management in government relations strategy.
? Monitor, analyse and regularly communicate policy and legislative changes and health policy issues affecting Hospira?s business and customers.
? Develop and implement effective strategies to influence policies and legislation affecting Hospira?s business interests.
? Prepare educational materials for use with influencing government officials and legislation.
? Lead multi-disciplinary teams to respond to legislation and develop recommendations for corporate and regional positions.
? Effectively communicate through government relations the Hospira corporate and regional positions in response to legislation.

Experience:
Former experience in EU or other major EU country government relations or government position with experience in health policy is a requirement. It is likely that the successful candidate will have at least?3 years exposure of?operating in a similar level role. Knowledge of government procedures, lobbying regulations and healthcare policy issues is a prerequisite to be considered for this position.

Educational Requirements:

A minimum of a Higher Degree in either Public?Relations, Communication or another related Business Subject

This is an exceptional Senior Opportunity for a credible individual who has demonstrable previous experience of working in a Public Relations role, with acute awareness of the Healthcare Landscape across Europe.
