A four-game slide had the Mount Mercy men?s basketball team looking for a change of pace, so the Mustangs ramped up their offense and walloped AIB, 94-59, in a Midwest Collegiate Conference contest on Senior Day at Hennessey Recreation Center.

Mount Mercy?s four seniors got the start on Saturday and combined for 27 points and 19 rebounds. Sam Kenyi scored 12 of those points and grabbed six boards. Filip Ristic had seven points and six rebounds, David Campbell added six points and Dino Gutesa snared five boards as the Mustangs outrebounded the Eagles, 53-27.

Junior forward Chad Underwood led the Mustangs (17-10, 8-8 MCC) with 18 points. Freshman guard Jake Misener chipped in 10 points and four assists. Junior guard Sid Beck dished out a game-high eight assists and collected four steals. Junior guard Antonio Thomas contributed four assists off the bench.

Brandon Eley poured in 18 points and had four rebounds, three assists and four steals for the Eagles (2-26, 1-15 MCC). He was joined in double digits by Max Newbury with 11 points.

Mount Mercy is tied with Waldorf in fifth place in the MCC with two regular season games remaining. The Mustangs face Iowa Wesleyan (11-12, 6-10 MCC) on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at Ruble Arena in Mount Pleasant.
